Alat penginderaan terdiri dari elektroda pH, penguat sinyal, dan elektroda referensi. Elektroda penginderaan pH bertindak sebagai transduser yang menghasilkan dan mengirimkan berbagai tingkat tegangan berdasarkan konsentrasi ion hidrogen bebas dalam air. Penguat meningkatkan sinyal sehingga dapat diukur.
